It's always great when companies want to get on board with your mission, and that's exactly what happened in Belfast.

A group of organisations from the Belfast City area were keen to work with Love Food Hate Waste on a variety of food-related projects.

These included:
• East Belfast Mission (EBM)
• Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful
• The Northern Ireland Assembly
• Bryson Energy
• Tesco

So we organised a training session with the aim of using what we learned to help the residents of Belfast. The session included facts and figures, activities and discussions on ways to save money by making a few simple changes at home, such as planning ahead, freezing and using leftovers or forgotten foods.

The group discussed how they could keep the momentum going by passing the message on through their own channels and sharing our tips with their colleagues, friends and clients. Each member also pledged to make at least one change within their own homes.

"Everyone is interested in food! And there is so much to learn! This training was great because it helped empower me to embrace the waste side as well as enlightening me to save some money too." John Harkness
