When making anything with mince I always add a grated carrot or two It bulks out the mince making it more cost effective and a really good way of sneaking in some extra veg ! If you add it as you add the mince you can't even taste it as it takes on the flavour of the meat.
When making mince I always add two cups of green lentils to make the mince go further but also to reduce our red meat consumption whilst adding goodness from the lentils.
Freeze any meat left over from a roast, like beef, pork and lamb to use at a later date in a tasty curry.
If you haven't got time to make a shepherd's pie from your leftover roast, whiz the meat with an onion in the food processor and pour into a freezer bag for later. It is then quick and easy to cook the prepared meat mixture from frozen to make a shepherd's pie or rissoles.
When making bolognese sauce or Shepherd's pie, I usually add a finely grated carrot and a finely grated courgette to the mix at the same time as the mince - this bulks it out considerably and you can't taste it. It's also a pain-free method of increasing vegetable intake.
