Good For You Banana Ice Cream

Great for kids

This is a great recipe for using up bananas past their best. Supermarkets often sell off spotted bananas cheaply so snap them up and make this amazingly simple ice cream. It contains no cream or sugar so is really good for you too.

I cannot express how much I love this recipe! It's so quick and easy to make as I always keep a ripe banana in the freezer ready for a quick dessert.

We all love bananas, especially my 2 year old but tend to throw them away. This is great for the kids and saves money too.

Tried this out today and I really like it! One suggestion: try adding a bit of milk or yoghurt if your blender/food processor can't cope with the frozen bananas (mine couldn't). I also added a tad of cinnamon, vanilla essence and icing sugar. Will definitely do this again if I have bananas left over!

I have just made this and am really really surprised! I didn't think it would work as it seemed too easy! The result was perfect - a really fantastic ice cream and a great way of having an extra fruit portion. I added a tablespoon of greek yoghurt. Am going to experiment with different fruits now...

This is the quickest yummy dessert on the planet! I really didn't think it would work or taste like ice-cream but it really does, I also added a splash of milk, once it was blended I put it back in the freezer in a tub for another day - my toddler (who usually doesn't eat bananas) loved it!
