Oven Poached Plums

Great for kids

A simple ever so quick recipe that is really delicious and can use up lots of really ripe fruit. Allow about 3 or 4 plums per person. This recipe also works well if you have over-ripe apricots, apples or pears.

Ingredients show imperial units

Serves 4

  • 700g or about 15 over-ripe plums, washed, halved and stone removed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 100ml Greek yoghurt or whipping cream flavoured with vanilla essence

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) mark 5.

  1. Place the plums on an ovenproof dish and sprinkle with the cinnamon and sugar.
  2. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the fruit is tender. Serve warm with Greek yoghurt or vanilla cream.
