Apple and Berry Compote

Great for kids

This is a very simple and quick recipe for using up apples past their best. There is no sugar added to the recipe so it is also low on calories.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium eating apples, peeled, cored and bruises removed
  • 100ml orange or apple juice
  • handful of berries such as blueberries, raspberries, strawberries
  • A pinch of Cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Put the apples, orange juice and cinnamon into a heavy based pan and cook over a low heat for about 10 minutes or until just tender, stir in the berries and serve warm with the Banana and Yogurt Pancakes.
