My Dad used to use a lovely phrase from the war for dinners made from left overs - "make do and mend".He used it as an apology when money was tight but in my family it now stands for wholesome family dinners made with love and abit of creativity. It makes cooking more interesting and and somehow brings the family together. A lot of people have lost touch with what food is and what it does to your body and soul - they just treat it as another commodity. More is not better.
