Add your voice

If you didn't manage to eat those pears in time, or the bananas are going brown, don't simply throw them away - think of the garden birds, who will love the pears, and the worms in your compost who will make short work of the bananas. The compost material will enrich your garden soil, increase the stock of worms and in turn provide more food for the birds. Simple! One tip: don't add citrus peel or avocado skins to the compost,- you will have to throw those away as they don't biodegrade very well.
