It's tragic just how much food is wasted in the UK. Less we forget the ''back office" waste involved in producing this food in the first place. At every stage of the production cycle, growing, harvesting and distribution there is a collosal waste, and so we should also look to improve the efficiency of our agriculture and freight services. I for one now make a much bigger effort to use up left overs since the campaign began. The secret to my success is two fold - curry and soup. I urge you all to learn the basis of a good curry, frying onions, garlic and ginger with some crushed up cumin seeds or a pinch of curry spices. Once you have this in your arsenal you can literally just mix and match left overs to make a meal in minutes from left over turkey to wobbly carrots, dehydrated looking mushrooms, and left over half tins of chick peas, its all good, bung it in and curry it up, yum yum!
