Just imagine how much better off we'll all be when we stop throwing a third of our shopping in the bin.
Stopping waste can only be a good thing, no stinky bin, no landfill issues (and greenhouse gas production), no wasted money, and no taking food for granted. We now plan meals, avoid processed foods and overpackaged goods, cook from scratch, buy organic as much as possible, recycle and compost, and our food costs have almost halved. Forget credit crunch, this is life crunch, and because so much goes into making our meals, we are so much more aware of what wasting it means.
