Stop buying processed foods and make meals from scratch with fresh ingredients. You will find it much harder to throw away excess, after all the extra labour you have expended on it. Freeze the excess in plastic boxes (old ice-cream tubs) and re-heat the food for a healthy snack instead of pigging-out on high-fat, high-salt junk food. Don't forget to label the container with the date and description of contents, before freezing it.
