It amazes me that folk don't do all this "waste-saving" anyway. Food is so expensive it's daft to waste any. Leftovers are often tastier than the original meal, and cooking water makes lovely soup stock. Living in a rural area, we can't put food waste in the bin anyway - the wild animals just destroy the bin bags - so if it doesn't get eaten in our house, it goes in the dog or on the compost heap. I hadn't realised I was so green!!
