It's heart-breaking throwing out good food which has been neglected in the vegetable crisper in the fridge. I've made a conscious effort to buy fruit and veg at my local fruit store every few days - rather than during my big stock-up at the supermarket. The fruit and veg is fresher and tastier - it lasts longer!
