What a lovely site! I very rarely throw food away, I make 'concoctions' of whatever is left over. I suppose I am 'old school', I was brought up not to waste. One of my sons used to say I picked a chicken carcase cleaner than a vulture! I do not particularly enjoy cooking but dislike waste even more! I agree with Michael Roux it's just good old fashioned housekeeping and now we are faced with the credit crunch lots more people will need to learn the tricks us older housewives grew up absorbing.
