My family hates left overs so if I have say, a bigger portion of mince from a supermarket I cook it all at once with onion, garlic and a couple of stock cubes to enhance the flavour. I then halve the cooked portions, and make one portion into a Shepherds pie for instance. The other portion I freeze and when I get around to defrosting it I can use it up quickly to make one of a variety of mince dishes. If I do not serve the same sort of dish days running they are not considered "used leftovers" by the family.
