By being a tiny bit more organised, (I can't manage more than a tiny bit of organisation), and writing a shopping list of what I need for planned meals, I know I'll actually use the food I buy, rather than chucking half of it in the bin, because its gone past it's gone off before I’ve had a chance to eat it or to think how on earth I'm going to use that Turkish capsicum. It's just too easy to stumble into the supermarket when you're a bit tired and hungry and just pick up bits and pieces from here and there that you fancy. When I used to shop like that half the food ended up in the bin.
