Get the kitchens back in schools and make cookery lessons compulsory and longer. The modern curriculum doesn't allow for proper food preparation and budgeting which was my experience in the 1960s. Encourage more adults to learn to cook by linking with Adult Learning providers to teach those who want to learn. Use those schools who still have kitchens in the evening, weekends and holidays.
