My boyfriend is a terror for chucking out food just because he's got bored seeing it in the fridge. We have been known to wrestle over veggies as I try to save them from the bin! His teenage sons inspect the 'use by' dates before eating anything and won't even open something to try it before throwing it out if the date was yesterday. And they accuse me of poisoning them when I try insisting that the food's probably still perfectly fine and edible!
