Whatever happened to bulk-buy retailers? You could buy exactly the right amount of dried goods, like lentils and cornflakes, by helping yourself from large tubs. I seem to remember one chain called Soopa Scoopa, or something like that. I think a return to this style of shopping would reduce food waste AND packaging waste.
