I am of the opinion that if throwing food away isn't a criminal offence, then it should be! If I have bought it, brought it home and cooked it, I'll be damned if I'm throwing it away. The Sunday joint can always be stretched to make another meal (sweet & sour pork, chicken and mushroom pie, shepherds pie, rissoles, etc). And who can tell once a potato has been mashed if it looked a bit sprouty in the cupboard?
