If food was sold in more manageable quantities there would be less waste by people who only want to buy for one... More
Sue Worthington has always been interested in not wasting food, but thought that there was more she could do to improve. So Sue got involved with Love Food Hate Waste and found that there were new habits to learn...
Before Sue used to buy foods in big packs as she thought they were better value. Unfortunately she found they were going off before she could use them up.
"Now I freeze foods like lemons in slices to use in drinks as and when I need them, and if I am using mince I always cook enough for three meals and two go in the freezer with dates written on them"
Using our freezers more often for multi-buy offers means we can buy bigger packs which are good value, and then divide them into freezable portions to eat at a later date.
Sue's habit is a great one to get, check out our freezer tips for more ideas.
